Getting members healthy and fit is not only one of our goals, but we also want to ensure that our staff is healthy and fit. One of our goals, we also want to ensure that our staff and the wider community can thrive today and in the future and the wider community can thrive today and in the future.
That is why we have launched a new initiative called “HCOA Protect and Enhance” with a mission to consistently impact the wellbeing of communities with the mission to consistently impact the wellbeing of communities, and to constantly look for ways to contribute to the environment and reward the community the environment and give back to the community.
This has always been part of HCOA’s DNA in the clubs and in the community.
Here are some of the initiatives we have been working with we have been working on.
IN THE CLUB:
We have replaced incandescent bulbs with LEDs.
We use biodegradable toilet paper and paper towels.
75% of our cleaning products are biodegradable and/or environmentally friendly.
We use digital contracts and other internal documents to reduce paper waste.
Our air conditioning systems have smart controls to reduce energy consumption.
IN THE COMMUNITY:
We have worked with organisations such as:
Puerto Rican Down Syndrome Association.
Women at risk.
Julia Strong Colon Cancer Foundation.
Multiple Sclerosis Foundation of Puerto Rico.
We will continue to implement initiatives to protect the environment through electricity and water conservation.
Use even more environmentally safe products both inside and outside our clubs.
We will take all these values into consideration when purchasing ﬁtness equipment and when partnering with our partners.
We will take steps to improve the lives of people outside our clubs, with even more active community programmes.
